Final piece of public art at Anstey Way

Colchester based artist Sarah Sabin has installed her final piece of public art at our Anstey Way development. Last year saw the unveiling of a stunning set of tiles that have created an eye-catching backdrop to the entrance of each block.

Now two benches have been installed as the final piece of the public art project, as part of ‘Resonance Cambridge,’ the extensive public art programme we have commissioned across our developments.

I’m delighted the benches are now installed at Anstey way. I hope the residents enjoy using them to relax and socialise in the courtyard garden area in warmer weather; to chat to each other, or watch their children play on the lawn. The green colour and cut out designs on the benches are based on the plant life in the entrance tiling I also designed for the site, with the perforations letting light pass through at different levels. The design on the benches has been taken from the stylized patterns that Sarah originally created as cyanotype prints after working with Fawcett Primary School.
