Ellen Wic
We are passionate about addressing the gender imbalance in the construction industry and through Hill’s platinum partner of Women into Construction we have taken on a number of placements across our CIP sites.
Ellen has joined us in full time employment as a Site Assistant at Ironworks, following a successful placement with Women into Construction.
After undertaking administration work in the industry Ellen was referred to Women into Construction via a family friend. On the WiC programme, Ellen received information, guidance and training to gain her CCS card and then undertook practical work experience at The Meadows site.
During this placement, Ellen shadowed the Senior Site Manager and enjoyed meeting and working with subcontractors to understand the daily tasks performed by a Site Manager.
Women into Construction supports women wishing to work in the construction industry by working with housebuilders and contractors to recruit highly motivated trained women, helping reduce skills gaps and create a more gender-equal workforce.
