Ironworks
Formerly the City Council’s operational nerve centre, the Mill Road Depot now known as Ironworks will provide a brand new, mixed tenure, sustainable housing development in the city centre.
Homes: 236
Planning permission has been secured for 236 new homes, of which 118 (50%) will be council rented. The development will include a new community centre, which will serve the wider community. It will also have strong cycle links including opening up a new path to the Chisholm trail.
Approved planning applications include Mill Road Phase 1, Mill Road Phase 2, and Mill Road Section 73.

Sustainability: Green features include high fabric performance, mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR), photovoltaic solar panels, rainwater gardens, swales, new habitat creation, green roofs.
